Think of better ways to destroying the barge is not the best option.

1. Stolen crude, a property of the government. There’s no sense to destroy it when recovered.
2. Destroying the barge will cause environmental degradation of the atmosphere, water bodies/ecosystem within that areas and beyond.
3. We just lost $41,856 @ $69.76 per barrel given Nigerian Forcados Crude Oil Spot Price (I:NFCOSP) for today.

The barge should be dismembered as sold as scrap metal instead of the environmental pollution of burning it

The thing is that federal government no what they are doing, you don’t destroy things like that, bcus first those things are evidences against those people and the company that sent them,people that sent those people are top politician, so u don’t destroyed bcus it also environmental degradation, so please charge to court they will will lead u to whoever that sent them..

Solen crude could have been sent to our mini refinery instead of burning it and causing health hazard.

Nice reporting 👏 👍 👌 However, more people who are engaged with stealing our natural resources here in the creeks of the Niger should be investigated and locked up already… We are tired of just destroying those in the lowest level of the food chain. The destruction of a Barge full of crude Oil is an Environmental Criminal action. It will take a long time to heal the destruction this action does to the area. What are they thinking ? The Government should tow the barges to a designated area ,and extract the Crude oil. Sell or scrap the barges and impose a serious fines on the criminals if found guilty. Use the proceeds of the fines to pay and equip the security task force and clean the environment. In addition impose a serious jail sentence to these criminal if found guilty. Any government has the power to make it so difficult to commit any crime. Nigeria Law enforcement could make lots of money from fines imposed on these criminals. The people of those Area where this Barges are destroyed with Crude oil in them should take the Government to Court for Criminal environmental destruction and degradation of they land and thereby depriving them of a potential livelihood.

I think the best way is to invite the NNPC to lift the crude oil from that place to any of the refineries.where is our capital punishment as a country for this kind of offenders.
