A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said advocating for military rule in Nigeria won’t solve the country’s problems.

The former Minister of Aviation stated this on his official X account on Monday while reacting to some netizens’ call for a coup d’etat.

Kemi Filani News recalls that the judgement delivered by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal struck out the petition of the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi and his counterpart in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Atiku Abubakar.

After the tribunal judgement, some supporters of Peter Obi and Atiku on social media made a case for military intervention in Nigeria.

But FFK, said the military rule could not solve numerous challenges bedevilling the country.

“Simply put, we all need to be careful about what we say, and we must do nothing that will encourage or mislead others into charting a dangerous and violent course in Nigeria.

“The remedy to the challenges in our country cannot be to kill democracy by encouraging the military to take power or to throw out the baby with the bathwater, and treading such a damned path would be indicative of a curse”, he said.
