Comrade Uchenna Madu, who leads the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has refuted claims that the group accused Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and former Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, of betraying the late Odumegwu Ojukwu.

The National Director of Information, Comrade Edeson Samuel, issued a statement in Abakaliki, clarifying MASSOB’s position on the matter. He emphasized that the group did not level such allegations against the two politicians.

In the statement, MASSOB also cautioned Ralph Uwazuruike, a former leader of the group, against exploiting Ojukwu’s name for personal gain from politicians.

Regarding a publication by Chris Mocha, the spokesperson of Ralph Uwazuruike’s Biafra Independent Movement (BIM), alleging MASSOB’s accusations, the statement dissociated the group from the said news article.

MASSOB further pointed out Uwazuruike’s alleged betrayal of Ojukwu’s legacy and his collaboration with other individuals to undermine the Biafra cause.

Furthermore, the statement urged the Labour Party to verify any statements relating to MASSOB before making unfavorable remarks about the pro-Biafra group.

It also clarified that MASSOB has not condemned or spoken ill of the Labour Party or its presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, unless provoked.
