Mrs. Lauretta Onochie, former chairperson of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Board, has called for the arrest of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party. Onochie accuses Obi of inciting violence in the country and wants the police and the Department of State Services (DSS) to take action. She claims that Obi is attempting to provoke violence through his supporters following his defeat in the 2023 presidential election. Onochie questions how someone who finished third in the poll can be so desperate to become President, making her plea public via her X account in response to a video shared by Abubakar Sidiq Usman.

Onochie writes, “Attn: @OfficialDSSNG, @PoliceNG I think it’s high time you pulled this clown.” She alleges that since Bola Ahmed Tinubu was declared the President by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Obi’s running mate, Dr. Datti Baba Ahmed, and other individuals she describes as “unpatriotic angry birds” have been inciting youth to engage in violence. However, she claims that sensible youth in Nigeria have ignored their calls because they outnumber those who blindly follow Obi.

In addition, Onochie states that Obi has been deceived into pursuing his chances at the tribunal, where he failed, and even attempted to use the Labour movement to disrupt the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal by declaring a two-day warning strike. She describes Obi as a desperate individual who continuously incites his brainless followers to seek a violent change of government. Onochie finds it perplexing that a man who came third in the race is now so determined to be declared the winner, emphasizing that it’s time for him to answer a few questions. She concludes her plea by stating, “Pull him in, the heavens will not fall.”
