The Labour Party (LP) flag bearer in the November 11 Imo governorship election, Chief Ikenga Joseph Ikechukwu Ukaegbu, has promised to bring lasting peace to Imo state by bringing all political heavyweights like former governors – Chief Achike Udenwa, Ikedi Ohakim, Rochas Okorocha and Emeka Ihedioha on the same table to drink with the same cup.

He also promised to bring Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Senator Hope Uzodimma and their likes for the same purpose.

Ukaegbu, who is of the Lamidi Apapa group and believes he is the authentic LP guber candidate for the election, said ” I don’t want retaliation, because it will lead to escalation of crisis. We must make sure that peace reigns in Imo state.”

On his manifesto, the LP candidate who claimed he manufactured the popular cliché used by Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi in the last general election, when he first contested Imo governorship in 2019, i.e. “From Consumption to Production,” also promised to declare state of emergency on agriculture in the 27 LGAs of the state to ensure enough food production for the people as prices of food stuff would definitely reduce.
