This article with an advert claiming that World Vision Kenya is recruiting 1,200 data collection clerks is a HOAX.
The author claims that the non-governmental organisation has hired a market research company to help recruit data collection clerks to be stationed in Narok, Bomet, Uasin Gishu, Kericho, Kisii, Nakuru, and Kisumu counties.
The duration of the contract has been listed as 20 days, effective 1 December 2023.
The advert promises successful applicants a remuneration of Ksh2,000 per day.
The claim was also shared on Facebook here, here, here, and here. But is the job advertisement authentic?
PesaCheck reviewed World Vision Kenya’s website for the job ad in this claim but didn’t find it.
The humanitarian organisation had 22 vacancies in Kenya as of 7 November 2023, and none of them was on data collection.
Additionally, in its Careers FAQ section, the organisation indicates that it does not outsource its recruitment process to third parties.
On 7 November 2023, World Vision disowned the job advertisement and urged Kenyans to disregard it.
“Beware of fake job advertisements doing the rounds on social media, websites and mass email messages. Kindly note that all our jobs are posted here,” reads the post.
