The entertainer has disowned the Facebook page.

This Facebook page purportedly belonging to Kenyan comedian Kennedy Odhiambo, popularly known as Crazy Kennar, and sharing “spin-and-win cash” promotions is a HOAX.

The page uses photos of the comedian on its display and cover images.

The page also shares legitimate content by the entertainer accompanied by promotions of the spin-and-win scheme.

According to the promotional message, users must click the provided link to register and claim bonuses on their cash deposits.

“Deposit and play earn thousands of money in minutes money. Make a deposit and start playing. Minimum deposit ksh50. Deposit above Ksh300 doubles to the account. Minimum withdrawal ksh50,” the message reads.

The post also has an image of the comedian doing laundry.

The spin-and-win promotion is unavailable on the entertainer’s legitimate page. Crazy Kennar shared the image of himself doing laundry on 15 January 2024, two days before the imposter Facebook page did. However, he did not include the promotional message, as seen below.

The username of the legitimate Facebook page is “Crazy Kennar” with at least one million followers as of 8 February 2024. Both the cover and display images are posters advertising Odhiambo’s stand-up stage performance, which happened on 16 December 2023.

The page also has links to the comedian’s YouTube channel and his email address.

While the user name of the imposter page is similar to the legitimate page, the name “Kennar” is spelled in lowercase, as shown below. Additionally, the imposter’s Facebook page only had 35,000 followers at the time of publishing this article. The page has no contain contact information, as is the case with the legitimate page.

The Facebook transparency information of the legitimate Facebook page of the comedian shows it was created on 14 July 2017.

The transparency information of the imposter Facebook page shows that it was created on 2 October 2022, five years after the legitimate page was created.

The comedian disowned the Facebook page. “That’s a fake account,” he wrote to PesaCheck via email.

PesaCheck examined the Facebook page mimicking Kenyan comedian Crazy Kennar and sharing spin-and-win cash promotions and found it to be a HOAX.
