The Palace on Thursday, said Asagba of Asaba, Obi (Prof) Chike Edozien, is in hospital and not dead as being reported in some quarters.
The revered traditional ruler was rumoured to have passed on on Thursday.
But the Palace Secretary, Ogbueshi Ndili who refuted the reports on telephone, said the 99-year-old monarch, “is only hospitalized. If the worse comes to the worse, we will make it open.”
