The Managing Director of Sonik Japan Nigeria Limited and also the group Chairman/Managing Director of GMoer Group of Companies Chief Godwin Okwudili Muoghalu GMoer was conferred with the traditional title of “Ikukuoma Nnewi “(Nnewi good breeze) by the Igwe of Nnewi HRH Igwe Dr Kenneth Orizu 111 during the 2023 Ofala festival at the traditional ruler’s palace.
The event that had former presidential candidate of Labour party in 2023 presidential election, Mr Peter Obi,former Governor of Enugu State Dr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the former Governor of Anambra State and the first female Governor in Nigeria Her Excellency Dame Virgy Etiaba,the Chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi Prof Joseph Odirichukwu Ugboaja, the Chief executive officer of Chikason Group Chief Dr Alexander Chika Okafor, Chief George Muoghalu, Chief Dan Ulasi and many others
was to mark Igwe of Nnewi 60th year on the throne which made him the longest reigning Monarch and to celebrate his 98th birthday.
“With the chieftaincy title, Chief Muoghalu is now a member of the prestigious body of titled chiefs of Nnewi”
Speaking, Igwe Orizu said Chief Muoghalu was honoured with the title “Ikukuoma Nnewi”
because he had been of help and had contributed immensely to the development of his community,Nnewi.
In appreciation, Chief Muoghalu shown his gratitude to the traditional ruler and his cabinet members for finding him worthy to be conferred with the title.
“Chief Muoghalu had done so many things for his community and with this honour he promised to continue being a blessing to his people”
“He had a foundation with hundred beneficiaries, where widows and less privileged children were been catered for”
“Many of my beneficiaries had graduated from different universities and successfully gained employment in different organizations”he revealed
“As a philanthropist,he had touched lives within and outside his community”
“He provided borehole water and electricity for his community”
“For security reasons, he provided solar street lights and many others”
“Chief Godwin Muoghalu had received numerous meritorious awards for his services to humanity and his tremendous contributions to peaceful coexistence and human development”
“Among the organizations that awarded him were;Police Community Relations Community (PCRC),Uruagu Nnewi Women Welfare Association, National Association of Nigeria Students Anambra Chapter, Ikoyi Club because he is sports lover,St Louis Catholic Church Uruagu, Nnewi ,certified with Jerusalem Pilgrim(JP) ,World Peace Ambassador and many others”
“He is happily married to Mrs Eyiuche Muoghalu and their union was blessed with five children”
Chief Godwin Muoghalu and his family on Sunday 31st December 2023 thanked God at St Louis Catholic Church Uruagu Nnewi, Anambra State for adding a year to his age and to show appreciation for his love towards his household.
