In a recent statement, the Federal Government has taken a strong stance against the misrepresentation of facts for political gains, urging Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, to desist from such practices.
This call was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, in response to the criticisms aimed at the N2.17 trillion 2023 supplementary appropriation bill, which was signed into law by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday.
Contrary to Peter Obi’s criticisms, the Federal Government asserted that the supplementary budget is not insensitive. Instead, it represents a bold and pragmatic response to the pressing economic challenges currently faced by Nigeria. The government emphasized that the budget was formulated through active engagement and consultation with relevant stakeholders, ensuring that it aligns with the needs and expectations of Nigerians.
