FCCPC Shuts Popular Abuja Supermarket Over ‘Unfair Practices’

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, FCCPC has sealed off a foreign supermarket 4U located at Wuse 2, for obnoxious practices, information concealing and sale of substandard bags of rice.

Sealing off the supermarket in Abuja on Thursday, the Acting Executive Vice Chairman of FCCPC, Adamu Abdullahi, described the situation as unacceptable.

It gathered that officials of FCCPC were at several supermarkets in the nation’s capital on Thursday to initiate a campaign to enforce price display and quantity compliance.

The move was a direct response to concerns raised by some consumers about the rising costs of goods which go against the recent strengthening of the naira against major currencies
