  1. Never under rate the Northerners. Gov. Rada of Katsina may look young and not sophisticated but from the interview you will see a highly intelligent politician talking. Northerners are born administrator and shrewd politicians.

  2. It could be something of a great benefit if the governors, governments and peoples of the north can come together in sincerity to make ad doc by laws and regulations that will check and regulate all and sundry within their subregion. We must come up with security laws that will address these monstrous threats to our lives and hold everyone accountable and punishable whenever both the led and the leader (anyone) engages, supports, finances, fails to report, is related to a culprit, and embezzles state funds or compromises the dividends of governance for the people at all levels.
Until such round-table brainstorming is willed, and the people can see the honesty and transparency of the States, there is nothing that is learnt from those DC workshops that will do the magic.

  3. We know the cause of and the cure for this insecurity or menace in the north.
How can you defeat the Terrorists and Bandits when 90 % of the Generals are from the north and 60 % amongst them are ethnically and religiously related to them.
Terrorism and Banditry is the new lucrative industry in Nigeria today. Top former and current Generals, politicians, religious, traditional leaders and business men run this industry. Northern
Judges and Justices are also key players.
The security, pension plan and wealth of the above mentioned elite class depend and are guaranteed by this industry.
How soon do we forget. Not too long ago, there was a blowback from the northerners against an army General from the South East ( General Ihejirika ). They lamented loudly with their megaphone that the war against Boko Haram Terrorists was a war against the north. How market and what has changed my Northern brothers and sisters.
You have this menace and your "Baba go slow" Buhari was quick this time to construct a railway line to Niger and issue Visa free entry. This construction is just a route and gateway for Terrorists and Bandits into Nigeria 🇳🇬. The quest for an Islamic nation at sight. Remember Ruga, Cattle colony and Fulani radio stations federally funded.
    Who is fooling who?
The southerners take pride in speaking Hausa language and wearing their traditional outfits but how many Hausa/Fulanis do you hear speak any of the southern languages or wear isi agu or ashoke ,ijaw, ibibio outfits.
One Nigeria is just a meaningless slogan and not from the heart.
Why is the north afraid of restructuring if they truly believe in one Nigeria. Go figure

  4. The 10 Northern Governors honoring the invitation from United States Peace Initiative for a symposium to discuss insecurity in their region was very commendable. Some Nigerians for short sightedness started asking why they should be using their tax payers money to travel to America without knowing the details. These Governors were able to focus on the issues relating to the insecurity situation in the region for three days with input from independent sources, unlike most Nigerians governors that are known to visit the United States for all kinds of shopping that has no relevance to what is happening neither in the country nor their states. There is no doubt that the guest learnt something from the visit to the United States and upon returning to Nigeria that met with counterparts that did not travel to the United States for information sharing. If all the Nigerian governors were making it a point to visit their counterparts in the United States they would have gained a lot on how to run and manage the resources of the states with less dependence on the Federal Government. Seun I will suggest that you continue to go to your guest or experts like him when it comes top economic crisis rather than bringing lawyers and politicians who have no clue as to what is going in the country's economy. These set of people are sentimental and rebellious about issues because they want to tell the general public what they want to hear instead of the realities. As the guest pointed out the last time the tariff was reviewed in the telecom sector is eleven years ago and since then you can imagine the number of subscribers to the use of the cell phone which sometimes do not work effectively as expected. What is the benefit of paying cheap for a service that does not actual meet the needs. The system has to be updated to receive perfect service all the the time and not some time. The government only benefit from the major telecom companies in Nigeria if they pay taxes to the government which revenue to the government. I am not an economist but it is common sense to understand what the guest is saying. Nigerians simply pretend not to understand why taxes and tariff are necessary in meeting the needs of the people. The citizens will suffer if there is a breakdown on essential services in the country because the service providers are unable to upgrade or maintain the technology that drives the services. I know Nigerians will cry foul with this contemplated tariff increase and as the guest as suggested it is must because you cannot eat your cake and have it as pointed out.
