On Tuesday, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and civil society organisations remained steadfast in their commitment as they led hundreds of members in a protest to the Lagos State House of Assembly. Their aim was to present a letter of resolutions to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for final submission to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The protesters, consisting of representatives from various unions, marched peacefully from Ikeja, led by prominent rights activist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Femi Falana. Along the way, they took breaks to address passers-by and motorists affected by the traffic caused by the protest.

Upon reaching the Alausa Secretariat, they gathered to address the members and deliver their message. This protest followed the announcement by the national body of the NLC of a two-day protest against the prevailing hardship and hunger experienced by workers and Nigerians at large. This decision came after failed negotiations between the NLC and the Federal Government to find a resolution.
