I see too many emotion people on the comment session blaming either the oba or the edo state govt forgetting to blame these evil community heads and their cohorts who engage in land grabbing and selling know govt and oba land just to cause reprisal.
They knew the land is govt reserved land but because of their greed and laziness to work and get money for themselves, they engage in selling lands which doesn't belong to them and putting innocent buyers in harms way.
It is only here in Nigeria we sell land without proper govt plan.
Some of you have watched movies or traveled overseas and see how organized areas can be even with man-made lagoons and beautiful reserved space for parks and gardens but everyone wants to build houses anywhere because some illiterate sold lands to you.
The govt has to arrest these evil community heads for doing this and making people loose so much.

The governments shouldnt have waited for people to develop their property before moving in..As a matter of fact, the government needs to put in place a perimeter fence to demarcate te government land. Its better for government to lay out towns and for the public to buy land through official channels

This demolition is evil. The government has all right to carry out its legitimate duties but the procedures followed also matters. The government didn’t inform the owners who acquired from the communities, nor did they put signs of government acquisitions in place, no notice of intending demolition of properties. Rather the commissioner said the communities(not lessees) were informed of the government acquisition. Those supporting the government actions should remember that “what happened in the goat house can also happen in the fowl house”
