Cross River Economy: Governor Ayade Inspects 12,000 Litres/Hour Vegetable Oil Factory

The Cross River State governor, Professor Ben Ayade has expressed delight over the progress of work at the groundnut oil processing factory in Nyanya, Bekwarra Local Government Area of cross river state.

Speaking shortly after inspecting the ongoing project at the factory, governor Ayade explained that the industry is part of his industrialization policy of one industry to a local government, by taking advantage of the raw material, stating that Bekwarra is the largest producer of groundnut with the best quality in Nigeria.

Governor Ayade disclosed that there is a robotic component that does a systematic check on quality, designed with a support laboratory, projected to mill about12,000 liters per hour on completion, producing natural vegetable oil from groundnut fresh from the farm.

The Governor explained that it is better to consumer groundnut oil which it’d source is known other than consuming imported oil which origin is not known.

According to the Governor, the groundnut oil processing factory upon completion is expected to employ over 500 jobs, which will significantly alter the economic landscape of Bekwarra, noting that Bekwarra people are very industrious and are great farmers.
