The  General Overseer, INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has urged the Federal Government to convert the forest being used as hideouts by the Boko Haram terrorists to farmlands.

According to a statement on Wednesday, Ayodele gave the advice on February 18, during the church’s 30th anniversary in Lagos State.

He said converting Boko Haram hideouts to farmlands would solve both the problem of insecurity and food shortage.

The cleric said, “I advise the Federal Government to convert all the bushes Boko Haram use as their hideouts to farms.

“This step would yield more farm produce which is to be sold at a meager price and of course, a searchlight should be beamed on the undesirable elements, while harping on the need for the government to strengthen the security system in the nation.”

Ayodele also urged the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, not to contest for the presidential office in 2027 because he is not the chosen one.

“Nigeria is facing hardship under the present dispensation. The emergence of Peter Obi as the President would mean hardship raised to the power of four,” he said.

He pleaded with the Federal Government to refrain from giving palliative funds to government agencies, saying “It will not get to the common man.”

Rather, he said the government should assist local manufacturers to lower the dollar rate and enhance the standard of living for the general public while urging the public to embrace love to stop the turmoil in the human race.

“If the Federal Government can heed my advice by harnessing the country’s natural and mineral resources, the japa syndrome will be a thing of the past,” the cleric said. The last
