The new Deputy Governor- designate of Ondo State, Chief Olayide Owolabi Adelami, has a colourful resume showing his career rise from start to finish. Here are 10 major facts about the new Ondo state second in command. Thus:

1. Established the Finance and Accounts Department of the National Assembly (NASS).

2. Participated in setting up the Accounts Department of the Petroleum Special Trust Fund (PTDF) in 1995.

3. In 2003, he was named the head of the Finance and Accounts Department of the NASS.

4. The new deputy Governor was a participant of the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos in 2008.

5. In 2014, he was promoted to the position of Secretary (Permanent Secretary), Directorate of Procurement, Estate and Works of NIPPS, Jos.

6. Appointed as the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly in 2014.

7. He retired as Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly in 2018.

8. Member and Fellow of Certified National Accountants of Nigeria (FCNA) -1994; Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM) -2001; Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI) -2006 and Institute of Cost and Management Accountant (FCMA) -2006

9. Adelami holds the chieftaincy title of Amuwagboye of Owo Kingdom.

10. Contested governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) but stepped down for the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in 2020.
