The resolution was reached during plenary on Tuesday following a motion raised by the Deputy Chief Whip of the house, Sampson Bernard on the urgent need to stop schoolchildren from loitering and hawking during school hours.

Bernard stressed that with the free education policy which was introduced by former governor of Akwa Ibom State and President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, no parent has an excuse to engage their children in hawking activities during school hours.
