Daniel Bwala, a former spokesman for the Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, has criticized Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, labelling him as an opportunist.

Expressing his disapproval over a picture of Obi at the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Cote d’Ivoire, Bwala accused Obi of exploiting religion, ethnicity, natural disasters, and sports to his advantage.

Sharing his thoughts on X, Bwala alleged, “Obi does not act as an opposition but as an opportunist. He capitalizes on the weaknesses of the nation and its people like a predator. He leverages religion, ethnicity, natural disasters, and even sports. Not until NFF supporters’ club members confronted him and asked him to leave.”

He further commented, “Peter Obi aspires to lead Nigeria by using catchphrases and buzzwords such as consumption to production, and referencing countries like China, Malaysia, Egypt, etc. What does he truly understand about governance? He pretends to empathize with the impoverished masses, but one should question the wages he pays his employees in all his companies and then come back to expound on the genuine meaning of modern-day slavery.”
