Represented by his daughter, Tolani Otedola, the cheque was received by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday at Lagos House, Marina.

This was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the governor, Jubril Gawat.

LSSTF is a public-private partnership established to complement the effort of FG in facilitating safety & security in Lagos State since 2007.

Otedola has been a steadfast supporter of the LSSTF, which has played a crucial role in providing essential assistance to law enforcement agencies for nearly two decades. His continuous contributions have positioned him as the leading individual donor to the Fund.

The contribution will help strengthen the collaboration between the state’s public sector and private philanthropy.

During the event, Tolani Otedola lauded the Governor and the LSSTF for their unwavering commitment to keeping Lagos safe and encouraged the Fund to continue its legacy of transparency and prudent management of resources.

Otedola is recognized as one of Africa’s prominent philanthropists. Last October, he donated N1m each to 750 students of Augustine University.

The Nigerian billionaire is not alone in this philanthropic endeavour. African billionaires are increasingly recognising the importance of giving back to their communities.
