During a discussion with Central Executive Committee (CEC) members, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto, expressed his reluctance to assume the position of Prime Minister given the current circumstances.

CEC members said that the party with the most seats holds the primary claim to govern. They advocated for remaining in the opposition instead of aligning with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

They suggested that to safeguard the democratic system, the PPP could extend support to the PML-N but refrain from joining the government. Although Bilawal Bhutto chaired the CEC meeting, Asif Ali Zardari’s attendance was brief.

The PPP leadership did not disclose the details of the PML-N’s contributions to the government, and council members were reportedly not briefed on what the PML-N had offered to the PPP.

It is noteworthy that the second session of the central executive meeting of the PPP is scheduled for this afternoon (Tuesday) at Zardari House Islamabad, commencing at 3 o’clock.
