I am surprised to know that the Nigerian government was subsidising fuel costs all these years. It comes as a surprise because Nigerians living in South Africa often insult poor in South Africa who receive income grants from the government. They call them lazy because they rely on government to put food on the table. To think all Nigerians were equally receiving some form of economic assistance from their government is a real shock to us.
