Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has urged President Bola Tinubu to assume responsibility for addressing the dire security situation in the nation.
Obi made this statement in response to the horrific killings of Elesun of Esun Ekiti and Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti on Monday in a tweet on his official X Twitter.
The monarchs were reportedly attacked and killed by suspected bandits as they were leaving an Irele-Ekiti security conference, according to the story.
In response, former Anambra State governor Peter Obi demanded that the president “wake up from his sleeping bed” and address the security issues.
He posted, “We are saddened by the report that Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti and Elesun of Esun Ekiti were murdered earlier today; Tinubu and insecurity are the causes of death.”
“We want Tinubu to get out of bed and prevent Nigeria from collapsing completely. Don’t say anything today. You or a loved one may become consumed with insecurity tomorrow.
