In a commanding performance, the South African national football team, Bafana Bafana, secured a resounding 4-0 victory against Namibia in their second AFCON 2023 match.

The match saw a notable comeback for Percy Tau, who opened the game with a penalty goal, redeeming himself after missing a penalty in the previous match against Mali, which resulted in a loss for Bafana.

Under intense pressure to prove themselves and recover from the previous defeat, Bafana Bafana showcased their dominance throughout the match. Themba Zwane contributed significantly with two goals, scoring in the 25th and 40th minutes. Thapelo Maseko sealed the victory with a fourth goal at the 75th minute.

Namibia, led by strikers Peter Shalulile and Deon Hotto, struggled to find the net, displaying a lackluster performance that allowed Bafana Bafana to establish a commanding 3-goal lead in the first half.

With this triumph, Bafana Bafana will now focus on their upcoming match against Tunisia on Wednesday, 24 January, aiming to make a strong statement in the tournament.
