The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has said former vice president Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra governor, Peter Obi, have been dealt a heavy blow by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, concerning President Tinubu.

Both politicians had contested the 2023 presidential election which they lost to Tinubu. However, their camps proceeded to dig up information on Tinubu’s past to use against him in their challenge at the election petition courts. Part of their move saw them seek files on Tinubu from the FBI.

However, their request was denied by the US agency, which, according to Onanuga, stated that it never promised to release documents on Tinubu.

Onanuga shared, “On a day that sore loser Atiku Abubakar was ranting in Abuja about the trashing of his appeal in the Supreme Court, the FBI and other US agencies dealt him another devastating blow.

“In a response to the emergency motion of Aaron Greenspan, their contractor in Washington DC, attorneys for the agencies and the US Justice Department said the FBI never promised to release any document on President Tinubu. This clarification debunked the false news circulated earlier in the social media space by one David Hundeyin, who practices a brand of ‘investigative journalism’ according to his own confession by ‘stealth’, as if journalism is the same as working for DSS or CIA.

“In the desperation of these conspirators, they shot themselves in the legs by filing their emergency motion, which was challenged by Tinubu’s lawyers. That counter move, effectively disrupted the conspiracy.

“FBI and other agencies have now said the emergency motion and the case arising from it, effectively meant a stay of action over the earlier court order.

“They said based on the earlier order, they didn’t plan to release documents, even if they have it, about the Nigerian leader, as he is entitled to his privacy.

“And so another voyage of discovery in America has ended badly for those politicians propelled chiefly by malice.”
