The Confederation of All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Group has leveled allegations against prominent opposition figures Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, accusing them of hoarding millions of dollars while Nigerians suffer in poverty.

At a news conference held in Abuja on Saturday, the group’s director-general, Mohammed Kailani, asserted that both Obi and Abubakar have significant sums of money stashed away, which could have been utilized to alleviate the plight of Nigerians grappling with poverty.

Kailani emphasized the need for opposition leaders to address internal party issues before critiquing the administration, urging them to adopt realistic strategies grounded in evidence and comprehensive planning. He alleged that Obi has approximately $1 trillion deposited in Fidelity Bank, while Abubakar possesses a similar amount hidden across the globe, funds that could have been invested domestically to generate employment and uplift the masses.

Highlighting what he perceived as post-election bitterness, Kailani criticized the opposition’s “wishful thinking politics” and urged them to desist from distracting the administration led by President Bola Tinubu. He rallied support for Tinubu, portraying him as a visionary leader equipped with the necessary attributes to address the multifaceted challenges facing Nigeria.

Kailani asserted that Tinubu possesses a clear, coherent plan based on evidence and realism to enhance the quality of life for all Nigerians. He urged the opposition to refrain from undermining Tinubu’s efforts and allow him to focus on addressing the nation’s pressing issues.
