Ikenna David, a music video director, has paid extras he hired to feature on the Away music video he shot for Iyanya, a popular Nigerian singer.
One month after FIJ reported how David and Koyinsola, his assistant, hired and failed to pay the extras, the director has now paid through Koyinsola, one of the affected extras confirmed to FIJ.
“On January 2, he paid two out of the 15 elderly women whom I know to have acted,” this extra told FIJ. “Last week, he paid the rest of us.
“He has also paid me. Thank you for your efforts, and God bless you.”

Before the fallout, Koyinsola recruited the extras to appear on set for the video shoot on October 22, 23, 29 and November 9 but only paid them for their October appearances while still owing them N10,000 each.
He then went quiet and refused to respond to the actresses who asked for their wages.
When FIJ contacted Iyanya on X, he absolved himself of blame, saying he had paid David for his work and was not owing anyone.
FIJ called David and Koyinsola, but none of them responded to our calls or texts.
