JIR says signal was set for the UP main line as per SM panel, but points were set to UP loop line. No way LP/ALP could have averted this. Probably the Solenoid's malfunctioned or it's plain sabotage.

Solenoid failure is not uncommon but rare. In case of failure the lack of physical connection and order mismatch sets the alarm and in auto signalling set the signal to red But no alarm nor signal to red implies intentional tampering of electronics or physical micro switches to rely wrong signal…

SE Railway is worst in India. See the management at Howrah station. Mostly all trains starting from Howrah is bought at platform on or after there schedule departure time. Station is similar to fish market. Taxi stand and parking outside station complex is controlled by TMC goons who are appointed agents of Kolkata traffic police. They take double and triple parking charges from vehicle. Mahua moitra there MP who frequently criticised BJP should answer on this. Ripon Street in Kolkata is floorhising with illegal buildings. Footparts are converted as extention of shops with the help of local TMC politician.
