Three dead, including an officer, after hostage situation in Austin

This sounds like an admission of incompetence not a briefing.

What was the name of the coward who was responsible for this?

This hits very hard. Austin is known for its valorous officers. They showed it in 1966, they show it today. A friend of mine, who used to be in the local department, and actually drove a GS injured officer to our hospital, transferred to Austin, years ago. I wonder about his status right now. And I feel for it everytime an Officer falls, trying to save life. They all hurt, but when the victims still die, it is harder. But it is not in vain!
For every person who hears this, there will be confidence that, no matter the cost, help will come. No matter the risk, help will come. And to those who would consider misdeeds, when they hear this, perhaps, for that critical second, they will hesitate–and change their mind. The loss of our brother will remind the people to have hope, and remind the evil that they have none.
It is not in vain!
After the tradition of the Roman Watchkeepers (and symbolized by the three rifle volleys at the funeral), we pass this fond sentiment: "Valē! Valē! Valē!"

I live less than a mile from this place. I was curious what the area looked like, I had a delivery near there, so why not. I got close, but both sides were taped up, cops still there, SWAT was still there, and investigators too. 2nd time, seeing something like this, the first time was literally 4 houses down from us. SWAT involved and everything.
