Investigators are looking into whether Maine shooting suspect Robert Card was targeting a specific person, believed to be a current or former girlfriend, two U.S. officials and a former high-ranking official told CBS News. Card is suspected of killing 18 people and injuring 13 in shootings at multiple Lewiston, Maine, locations Wednesday night. Police are still searching for Card. I am sick and tired of this kind of rhetoric and the meaningless condolences from the governor in Maine. Most of the rednecks in the nation love no gun control. Robert Card is the product of the negligence of our nation regarding mental health and gun regulations. We are the disgrace of the world since most of the civilized countries get alarmed of how easy is to get firearms in the U.S. We haven’t evolved since we have no weapons regulations; thus, anyone can get heavily armed here. If we continue with this mentality, nobody will be safe. I am sick of listening repeatedly after a tragedy has occurred that the perpetrator had mental issues, and nobody cared to follow up and remove those weapons from them. Although we are all to blame as a community, the authorities are mostly criminals and liable since they haven’t banned the purchase of firearms in this nation. Also, authorities do not care to closely monitor those who are mentally ill. Where is the network to prevent these tragedies? The government has done nothing about it. Usually, domestic violence abusers have weapons and the authorities disregard and overlook these kinds of situations. Shame on this nation and the ones that demand no gun control.
