Joran van der Sloot, the man long-suspected in Natalee Holloway’s death, pleaded guilty to wire fraud and extortion of Natalee’s mother today. As part of his plea deal, van der Sloot also confessed to her brutal murder. NBC News’ Sam Brock speaks with Natalee’s mother, Beth.

The only thing that sounds strange to me, is the he says he killed her then “Pushed her out to sea” which makes no sense! That body would not just float away on its own on a beach. That body would had came back to land quickly, or eventually. They searched all of that area for so long! I don’t think he’s telling the truth about what he did with her body though.

Sad. She was only 18. I can't believe it's been almost 20 years. It took so long to bring about any type of justice.

She is the mother of the United States. Everybody wants her for her mother. He is the scum of the Earth and hopefully one day he hast to answer now you got closure and you can move on with your life. Take care.
Why is this guy messing with her mother? He pleaded guilty to extortion "today" (as quoted) so that means Joran Vander Sloot is still causing these people pain after all these years. We know Natalee Holloway is dead, we know how she died, who done it and where. Lock him up and put him behind bars for good, he's crazy.
So sad it took this long.
Meanwhile, America cares about so many things to spark controversy etc.

I pray her family finds peace. He deserves a lot more time for Natalie’s murder. He has told so many lies and versions of this story, I’m not sure if I believe his details, although I’m certain he did murder her. I think he’s cooperating to get out of the foreign prison system. It was a pretty brutal system. I don’t believe he does anything because he cares about other people.
As a child I remember the years of media coverage that surrounded this case it’s so sad to hear what actually happened to her. I hope this brings closure for the family.

I’ve been following this since Day 1 & I do not believe what he said happened. I believe she was sold to a trafficker! Guess we will never know the real truth.
