Thousands of irrigation farmers at Daberam site in Daura local government area of Kâtsina state risk losing their crops if authorities remain adamant about the state of the irrigation facility that serves the farmers.
Nearly 5000 irrigation farmers at the Daberam dam site have relied on the three solar-powered machines to water their crops since 2021 when the dam was rehabilitated by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
At the moment only one out of the three solar powered machines is functional while the remaining two are faulty and out of use.
