The United Nations SDSN Oyo state chapter organized a community service project aimed at improving healthcare access for market women, men and children. The project was designed to sensitize market women about the importance of regular health checkups and offered free medical checkups and consultations to interested participants. The SDG advocates walked around the market to spread awareness about the significance of regular health checkups and the benefits of seeking medical advice early. The event was sponsored by DunsinCrafts who provided Afrocentric souvenir bags.
The project was a great success, with many market women expressing their gratitude for the opportunity to receive free medical checkups and consultations. The community service project was made possible by the support of the market chairman and chairwoman who provided the market hall for the event at no cost. The SDG advocates were thrilled to see the positive impact of their work on the community and expressed their commitment to continuing this initiative in Nigeria.
