Bauchi Governor Seeks TETFund Support To Train Technical Manpower, Others.

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has solicited the support of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, for the state-owned institutions especially in the training of technical manpower in agriculture, oil and gas and other fields critical to national development.

The Governor who made the appeal during a visit to TETFund headquarters in Abuja stressed the importance of human capital development in confronting challenges of underdevelopment, poverty, and unemployment.

Mohammed noted that the state requires support for its newly-established College of Education, Technical, as well as intervention on vocational training, where artisans: craftsmen, bricklayers and welders will be trained.

Mohammed also used the visit to commend TETFund for it’s intervention in various tertiary institutions in the north east state.

Responding, the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Arch. Sonny Echono lauded the state governmentโ€™s effort to invest in the education sector, while pledging the fundโ€™s support for the newly established college of education and efforts to train technical manpower.

Echono who stressed the importance of the college, said it will help address the shortfalls of teachers on technical subject at the basic level.
