The Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has called on organisers of the planned national protest against hardship in the country.
According to governor who spoke during a meeting with security agency heads, community leaders, and other key stakeholders, such actions will not resolve Nigeria’s pressing issues, but rather compound them as hoodlums and other criminally minded people are likely to hijack the protests and wreak havoc.
During the meeting, which drew attendance from security officials, traditional and religious leaders, community representatives, civil society groups, business leaders, the Nigeria Bar Association, student unions, the Nigeria Labour Congress, and the media, Governor Namadi stressed that both national and state governments are working tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.
