African interest will centre on the quartet of Egypt, Mali, Guinea and Morocco when the men’s football tournament of the Paris Olympics kicks off on Wednesday. Egypt, quarter-finalists in 1928 and 1964, have reached a record 12 Olympic tournaments and will hope to improve on that best-ever finish in Paris. With Morocco participating for the eighth time, Mali are featuring for the second time having reached the quarter-final in 2004 in Athens while Guinea will be making her debut.
