The Plateau state police commissioner, Emmanuel Olugbemiga Asesina, has warned officers of the command against unnecessary phone checks and maltreatment of citizens of the state, especially on the roads, warning that such attitude by the police wouldn’t be allowed under his watch.
The commissioner who was posted newly to the state emphasized that people’s rights must be respected.
On the issue of the incessant attacks in the state, the commissioner said the command is working to ensure more deployment of police in volatile areas, adding that he will visit such areas to assess and ascertain the level of adjustments that need to be done.
The commissioner also called on the citizens to remain calm, as he is in Plateau to restore peace and ensure that people have confidence in the police.
