Former Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, engaged in a Twitter exchange with a man who suggested that if Peter Obi were the President of Nigeria, he would handle kidnapping incidents more effectively. The man speculated that under Peter Obi’s leadership, rescued areas would be turned into national parks and amusement centers. In response, Bashir Ahmad highlighted a past incident during Peter Obi’s tenure as the governor of Anambra where the state’s former deputy governor, Dr. Chudi Nwike, was kidnapped and killed in a forest, despite the payment of a ransom by the victim’s family. Ahmad expressed his reservations about wishing for Peter Obi’s presidency due to concerns about the country’s well-being.
