My step dad passed the end of March after a stroke. My mother had a heart attack the first of May and passed away july 22. Dr said grom a broken heart.

I am aware of an older couple, married for many years and both were in the same care facility, who died within 20 minutes of each other. Somehow, it had to be comforting to the family.

It happened to both sets of my grandparents. Both within a year of the other. In both, my grandfathers passed first.

Yea, wow. First, it's pronounced Rah zal in. I have gone to cemeteries for visits and never saw one man yet that lived more than 10 years after his wife and that's with family support with children and grand children. Women, except for one who died within one year and that's only one, otherwise no less than 10 years with some living as much as 30 years after their husbands. I think men get lonely and women don't or women handle loneliness better or the third possibility is genetic disposition in all women for being the mothers of the human race. I've noticed among roaches and snails among other creatures that after procreation the males tend, though not all, to die.

The Carters were a wonderful couple and much loved. She was a wonderful First Lady. Even after his presidency he continued to contribute to America Hands-On with Habitat For Humanity. She is greatly mourned & I can't imagine how much he misses her after 77 years of marriage. At his age, it wouldn't surprise me if he passes soon. If only to be with her😢💔😢
